Evaluation of Mineralization Characteristics for Utilization of Data Building of Indonesian Biomass Ash

Biomass conversion for generating sustainable energy demands a number of key technical data describing biomass behaviors during conversion process and utilization of waste from biomass conversion  as economically valuable products. The objective of this research is to collect data of mineralization characteristics of Indonesian biomass with sufficient accuracy to enable those use as design parameters for biomass utilization. The methods of characterization of biomass mineralization consist of:

  1. Drying and comminution of the raw biomass

  2. Thermal analysis by DSC-TGA method to identify temperature range of thermal process

  3. Mineralization of the biomass by ashing

  4. Characterization of ash phase and chemical composition

  5. Modelling of thermochemical behavior of the ash using FactSage software package
